Medicaid Managed Care delivers healthcare services through managed care organizations (MCOs) to eligible individuals and families. Itprovides a wide range of services, including doctor visits, hospital care, prescriptions and preventive care.
Managed care plans work to improve health outcomes by coordinating the member's care. MCOs maintain networks of providers, including doctors, specialists, hospitals and pharmacies, and care coordination teams help members navigate the health system, manage chronic conditions and ensure they receive appropriate care. Seventy-two percent of Medicaid members are enrolled in MCOs nationwide.
